Burnham Without Parish Council have a vacancy for a parish councillor to serve the Highbridge Ward.

Burnham Without Parish covers the rural hamlets of Watchfield and Edithmead plus part of northern Highbridge (principally the Marconi Estate) and part of eastern Burnham on Sea bordering the Frank Foley Parkway.

The Council meets at Watchfield Village Hall about 7 times a year and meetings last normally 45 minutes to an hour in duration.

The Council is consulted on planning applications in the area and takes up issues such as road maintenance, fly-tipping and overgrown hedges and highway safety.

The main project currently is helping the Watchfield Village Hall Management Committee achieve their goal of building a new hall.

A group has recently been formed to help to improve and look after the Cookson Close play area and the Parish Council will be able to assist with their projects.
