You may know that you live in the area covered by Burnham Without Parish Council.

Burnham Without Parish Council meets approximately six times a year and

Makes recommendations to the District Council on each planning application in the local area
Takes up matters of concern raised by local people such as highway problems and fly-tipping
Represents the area on bodies such as the Burnham Area Burial Committee
Raises its own precept to spend on projects within the local community

The Parish Council currently has a vacancy for a parish councillor and really would like to co-opt a person to represent the Wallace Wells/Worston Road area of Highbridge which is currently under represented.

Being a parish councillor is not onerous. Meetings are held about every eight weeks in Watchfield Village Hall and they last an hour on average. Occasionally an extra Meeting is needed to consider planning applications.
